Macie Zimmerhanzel is the owner and artistic director of Macie's School of Dance and Yoga. She has been dancing, performing and instructing for over 18 years. Macie has studied various styles of dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, jazz, and tap. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Secondary Education from Texas Tech University. Macie is a Florida certified dance teacher for grades K-12. Macie is also a Florida certified yoga instructor. She completed her 200 hour RYT in Vinyasa Yoga. As a certified dance teacher at Manzano Middle School in Brownsville, Texas; Macie established the first dance team that performed in school and community events as well as dance competitions. Since moving to Florida, she has worked at several dance studios and established Miss Macie’s Preschool Dance Program where she teaches beginning ballet and jazz technique at various local preschool learning centers.
Macie performed with the Texas Tech Dance Company and choreographed for the Dance Tech student shows. Several of her choreographed works were performed in the Dance Tech recitals. Macie was also an assistant dance instructor for the Tremaine and Dance Caravan conventions in Texas. She was a member of Chi Tau Epsilon, a dance honor society, and served as an Ambassador for the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Texas Tech University. Macie has attended workshops with the Taylor 2 Dance Company and Pilobolus. She performed in numerous musical theatre productions with the Texas Tech Department of Theatre and Dance and the Lubbock Moonlight Musical Theatre. Macie was also a dancer in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Macie has a passion for dance and is dedicated to teaching it!
Mindie Zimmerhanzel is the Office Manager at Macie's School of Dance & Yoga. Mindie recieved a B.S. from Texas A&M University in Renewable Natural Resources. She was a Supervisor for Kelly Services and an Office Manager for Apple One. She later received her Masters in Secondary Education and was a high school teacher in Texas. Mindie has worked with children as a teacher, tutor, mentor and served in her church as the Director of Children's Ministry. She loves to support and encourage young children to reach their potential.
Addison Bassinger is a dance instructor at Macie’s School of Dance. Addison began lessons at Macie’s School of Dance at the age of nine and danced various styles with Macie during her nine years of dance training. Including Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Tap and Jazz. Addison graduated from Abeka Christian Academy and will be taking college courses from Hillsborough community
college in hopes of pursuing a career in criminal justice. Addison loves being a part of the Macie’s School of Dance family because of the loving work environment. Addison is passionate about ballet and dance in all its forms and is excited to share her love of the art with her students. She loves the creativity that comes not only with being a dancer, but also an instructor. Addison's first priority is that every child feels welcomed and included. She loves children and considers it a privilege to watch their confidence grow. Addison believes in teaching hard work and is dedicated to helping young creative minds express themselves through the art of dance.
Delaina Benton is a dance instructor at Macie's School of Dance. She is working towards her nursing degree at the University of South Florida and is also studying dance medicine. Delaina has been dancing for fifteen years and has also been dancing competitively for thirteen years. She has a passion for tap as it is her favorite style of dance, and it has been one of the best parts of her life. She hopes to create a positive environment where all students can learn to tap and have fun!
Madison Willoughby is a dance instructor at Macie's School of Dance. She started dancing when she was 3 and has since danced for 15 years as a competition dancer. She has performed on stage with the Russian Moscow ballet in their nutcracker and have been dance captain of Durants high school dance team. Madison is working towards a dance degree at USF and will gain her certificate of kinesiology to later become a physical therapist. For many years she has seen herself as a dance teacher to be through the many leadership roles she had taken. Teaching the younger generations of tiny dancers my passion and love for dance is awe inspiring. I hope that I can live up to the past teachers I have had as I now step into their shoes and able to share the greatness of the world of dance to all of my students.
