Macie Zimmerhanzel is the owner and artistic director of Macie's School of Dance and Yoga. She has been dancing, performing and instructing for over 18 years. Macie has studied various styles of dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, jazz, and tap. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance and Secondary Education from Texas Tech University. Macie is a Florida certified dance teacher for grades K-12. Macie is also a Florida certified yoga instructor. She completed her 200 hour RYT in Vinyasa Yoga. As a certified dance teacher at Manzano Middle School in Brownsville, Texas; Macie established the first dance team that performed in school and community events as well as dance competitions. Since moving to Florida, she has worked at several dan​ce studios and established Miss Macie’s Preschool Dance Program where she teaches beginning ballet and jazz technique at various local preschool learning centers.

Macie performed with the Texas Tech Dance Company and choreographed for the Dance Tech student shows. Several of her choreographed works were performed in the Dance Tech recitals. Macie was also an assistant dance instructor for the Tremaine and Dance Caravan conventions in Texas. She was a member of Chi Tau Epsilon, a dance honor society, and served as an Ambassador for the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Texas Tech University. Macie has attended workshops with the Taylor 2 Dance Company and Pilobolus. She performed in numerous musical theatre productions with the Texas Tech Department of Theatre and Dance and the Lubbock Moonlight Musical Theatre. Macie was also a dancer in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Macie has a passion for dance and is dedicated to teaching it! 

Mindie Zimmerhanzel is the Office Manager at Macie's School of Dance & Yoga. Mindie recieved a B.S. from Texas A&M University in Renewable Natural Resources. She was a Supervisor for Kelly Services and an Office Manager for Apple One. She later received her Masters in Secondary Education and was a high school teacher in Texas. Mindie has worked with children as a teacher, tutor, mentor and served in her church as the Director of Children's Ministry. She loves to support and encourage young children to reach their potential. 

Kaylen Engle was born and raised in Cape Coral, Florida, and began her dance training at 2 years old. She has studied various styles such as ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, and hip hop. Kaylen began competing with Robin Dawn Dance Academy at 8 years old and continued until she graduated high school. During that time, she earned multiple awards across the nation and trained with world renowned choreographers such as Travis Wall, Mia Michaels, and Twitch. Kaylen graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Dance. While in college, she performed in various pieces in the program, and on The Mocettes dance team. Kaylen is also in her third year as a Kindergarten teacher and so excited to share her love of dance with young dancers!

Kayla Griffin was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 2, she started dancing at Julie Andrew’s School of Dance, now known as Dance Avenue. She specializes in contemporary, tap, and hip hop but has been trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, and modern. At age 8, Kayla began dancing competitively with her studio. As a competitive dancer she won multiple scholarships, held regional and national dance titles, and traveled around the country to work closely with prestigious choreographers such as Kenny Wormald, Sonya Tayeh, and Alex Wong. Kayla also studied at Interlochen Summer Arts Camp and DancerPalooza. After graduating high school, Kayla moved to Lakeland, Florida to attend Florida Southern College. There, she captained the university’s dance team The Mocettes for 3 years, choreographed for showcases, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business, a minor in Dance Performance, and a Masters of Business Administration. Kayla has a strong passion for teaching and choreographing and is excited to introduce new styles to our dancers.
